How can I fix my HDTV if the picture goes black but I can still hear the sound?

I have a sharp 26 HDTV. I was watching a football game and suddenly the picture went out but not the sound. I turned the tv off for a couple of minutes and turned it back on and it was back to normal. The next day the picture went out again and I tried turning it off and the on, but this time it didn’t work. The tv has got sound but no picture. I want to see if there is a simple solution before I send it to get repaired.

    sounds like a light source problem.. if its an LCD your pretty much out of luck.. if its a DLP a new bulb might help.. Good Luck!
