I am getting an HDTV mainly to use for gaming and movies. I have cable in my room coming out of a coax cable from the wall. The HDTV does not have a coax port, is there any way to hook this cable up?

I've been looking at a 32 Sony hdtv and i think it read 6000:1 contrast ratio. I saw another hdtv with around 8000:1 contrast ratio. What does this mean. And what ratio is better for a 32 720p or 1080i hdtv?
