For instance, if I had an Apple 23 Cinema Display, could I plug the outputs from my cable box into the inputs on the Mac and watch HDTV on the monitor?

I just bought a 26" sharp lcd hdtv. The picture is fine, but the speakers are very disappointing. the tv does have a digital output audio. what kind of external speakers/woofers are compatible with this tv? what components will be needed? i reckon a conventional ...

I'd like to figure out if there are any HDTV channels available before I buy an HDTV with a built-in tuner. I'm not willing to pay for the expensive HDTV cable or satellite packages.
